Talk About It

Have you ever felt far away from someone you love, maybe after an argument or a mistake? In today’s verse, God says He has loved His people with an everlasting love. That means His love never runs out or disappears—even if we walk away or mess up! In the story of the prodigal son, the son left home and made many mistakes, but his father still loved him deeply. When the son came back, his father saw him from far away and ran to hug him. Jesus wants us to know that, just like the father, God is always waiting to welcome us back because He loves us forever and is always faithful. No matter how far we wander, God's love never changes. If you ever feel too far from God, remember He is always ready to forgive, hug, and celebrate you coming home. We can always return to Jesus because His love never ends!

For Parents to Explain

Dear God, thank You for loving us always and never giving up on us, even when we make mistakes. Help us trust Your love and come back to You every time. Amen.

Family Activities

Come Home Welcome Party

  1. Plan a small welcome home party for your family—just like the father celebrated the prodigal son.
  2. Make simple decorations or signs that say "Welcome Home" or "We Love You!"
  3. Take turns sharing about a time you felt loved even after making a mistake.
  4. End the party by reminding each other: "No matter what, we can always come back to Jesus who loves us forever!"

Everlasting Love Craft

  1. Cut out a big heart from paper and write "God’s love never ends!" in the center.
  2. Decorate the heart with markers, stickers, or drawings that show things you love about God.
  3. Around the edges, write or draw ways God has shown His everlasting love to you or your family.
  4. Hang your heart somewhere you’ll see it each day to remember God’s faithful love.

Family Prayer

Let’s each thank God for His everlasting love and ask Him to help us return to Him whenever we feel far away.
